Ankara Turkey weather forecast

Ankara is the Capital of Turkey and the second largest city,
Istanbul being the largest.

 

A good place to visit if you are a student as this is a large university town that also boasts a large ex-pat community.

Ankara is increasing in popularity as a tourist destination. The reason for this being it’s more central location and increasing tour operators and other associated services.  This makes Ankara a great base for discovering the not-so-common holiday hotspots like the Black Sea Coast,
Istanbul, Cappadocia etc.

The weather has cooled from October to a mild 15 degrees average.
October was 20 degrees.
 

The sea is still keeping it’s temperature at around 22 in the south, lovely……….

The hottest months have now passed, bringing average temps
of 20 degrees.  Bet you can still guarantee that it is warmer
and drier than in the UK for October.

The sea is still keeping it’s temperature at
around 25 degrees, lovely……….

Average temperatures are still in the mid 20’s, whilst on the
south coast (Antalya) the sea temp has remained in the high 20’s.

That sea temp continues to be a very reasonable 27-28 degrees on average.

Rainfall and rainy days are still hardly worth mentioning.

I am updating this post on 20th August – here in the UK it is raining today.
Just been and checked on the Met Office website and it looks like it’s going
to rain forever.

So if you are off to Turkey in September, we are pretty sure that your weather
is going to be much better than ours.

Hottest months for Turkey are July and August, with average and we must stress AVERAGE air temps of 28 degrees. So there are going to be days when the temp gets alot higher. That sea temp continues to be a very reasonable 27-28 degrees on average. Time for a dip ……………… Turkey holidays are so popular on the south coast because of the warm Mediterranean Sea. there are going to be days when the temp gets alot higher.

That sea temp has followed suit and warmed up further, and again we stress that those are average temperatures.

Turkey holidays are so popular on the south coast
because of the warm Mediterranean Sea.

Definitely a Turkey Holiday Hotspot, the
Turquoise coast, check out the likes of Alanya and Antalya for
taking advantage of that holiday sea (see weather by region – top).

The difference between the temperatures of May and June is
significant. Averages of 25 degrees for June as compared with 20 degrees for May, and 20 is nothing to grumble about.

The sea temp has risen sharply again, and rainfall / rainy days are hardly worth mentioning.

June is a great month for a holiday in Turkey,
the holiday heat is not at its most extreme, see July and August for that )

sea temp has also gone up by a good 2-3 degrees.

Only 5 rainy days on average and lets be honest, very little rainfall.
